The Provençal Gard belongs to the Languedoc region. It is separated from Provence by the Rhône. The right bank of the river has pretty villages with stone houses, landscapes of scrubland where the song of cicadas resonates during the summer. The winegrowers produce excellent wines from the Côtes-du-Rhône.
