The 2013 santon exhibition
Les Amis de Séguret association displays santons and nativity scenes in the Sainte-Thècle chapel. At the 2013 edition photographed here, the work of twenty-nine santon makers stood alongside private collections. In the adjoining room, the Christmas Eve supper table was set beside the cacho-fio log.

Set against the Dentelles de Montmirail, Séguret itself resembles a Provençal nativity scene. Lanes, stone houses and views over the plain make it a pleasant place to explore.
The cacho-fio and the shepherds’ Christmas
Christmas traditions have a special place in Séguret. The cacho-fio is the blessing of a fruit-tree log before Christmas Eve supper. The shepherds’ Christmas combines Provençal songs and a living nativity scene. Check admission arrangements and any booking requirements with the organisers for the edition you wish to attend.

The exhibition offers an opportunity to discover santon makers and Christmas traditions before exploring the village. This page’s photographs preserve the settings of 2013.
