At the Mas de la Crémade, between Pernes-les-Fontaines and Saumane-de-Vaucluse, santon maker Magali Montagard invites visitors each year to admire a large, colourful, animated Provençal nativity scene. She continues an annual tradition established in 1929 by her father, a santon maker at La Crémade.

Each year, when planning her setting, Magali Montagard takes inspiration from a different Provençal village. For this nativity scene, she chose Lourmarin and its castle in the Luberon, one of Provence's loveliest villages.

The La Crémade nativity scene traditionally opens every afternoon from 25 December until Candlemas on 2 February.
