The Christmas nativity scene in Grignan is inside Saint-Sauveur collegiate church. This splendid building stands beneath the castle terrace above the village. You can walk there from the Le Mail car park at the foot of the village.

It occupies around ten square metres in the Chapel of the Virgin.

After a €2 contribution towards the church's upkeep is inserted into the coin slot, the nativity scene comes to life with a sound-and-light display.

The scenery faithfully depicts Grignan and its castle. Lighting recreates a day from dawn through dusk into night.

Local volunteers assemble the display. By tradition, the infant Jesus is placed in the manger on Christmas night and the Three Kings arrive on Epiphany.
