Altera Rosa in Avignon, "a festival of Roses"

uring Altera Rosa, the Palace of the Popes in Avignon celebrates the Roses and springtime. Thousands of roses occupy the closter of the 'Old Palace', the most ancient part of the Palace of the Popes.

Altera Rosa takes place in May for Ascension week-end, in Avignon's Palace of the Popes. More than 20 000 people came to admire the Roses displayed here and choose their beloved one.
