ean Froissart, a poet and chronicler contemporary with the Avignon's Popes, describes the Pope's Place as the "most beautiful and strongest house in the world". The Pope's Palace is the most important monument of Avignon's Heritage.

he Popes Palace consists in two parts : the "old Palace", built by the pope Benidict 12, and the "new Palace" built by his successor Clement the 6, "the magnificent". The façade and the main entrance, the "Champeaux gate" belong to the "new Palace" and overlook the Pope's Palace square.

	his is an exceptionnal monument which deserve a long visit. It's in preparation and will be later published on Horizon Provence.
